Yeah, so.....

So I don't post to my blog very often.....what's your point! I just figure I'll post when I have projects done so this tells you how often I get projects done right. Kinda sad really. I should get off my tush more often and work on things but you know how it is when you seem to have quilt block.

So let me show you what I have been working on. This is a finished Dresden plate block. I made 12 of these to make a large quilt. Next step is to put the blocks together.

These blocks will alternate with Dresden plates sewn onto tan blocks as well.

I've also been in baby mode lately. A friends daughter is having a little girl in April or May so I've been working on a quilt for her. I still need to do the quilting on it so will share a picture when that is done but I've also made these really cute baby pants.

This pattern is called Big Butt Baby pants from Made by Rae. This is a great pattern! I love it! So easy to put together and fast and fun to make. They're super adorable and roomy. They were designed for babies who wear cloth diapers but are just as great for those who wear disposables too. Excellent pattern and great, clear instructions. I will be making a ton of these for my grand baby as soon as I know what my daughter will be having. You should check out her site too. The writing is great and the photography is wonderful and great tutorials. This month she is doing a series along with another blogger from Made called Celebrate the Boy. Lots of great projects for the boy in your life. I don't have a boy in my life (other than my fabulous husband but these aren't projects for him) but even so I have been checking out their sites several times a day in anticipation of reading about their next project or reading some thing from a guest blogger.

Even though I haven't been getting many projects done lately I did manage to get a Downy Quilt for Kids quilt finished and sent off.

To finish for today I will show the 2 books I am excited to now have in my hot little hands.

I'm looking forward to making some thing from these books. Especially Word Play Quilts. That should be fun!

Well, I guess I should go to my sewing room now and find some thing to sew.

Bye!

Sewing away

I have just spent the last 2 days sewing away in my sewing room. Dan bought me a new tv/dvd combo because the laptop I was using for a dvd player decided it didn't have an operating system anymore. I don't know about you but I have to have a tv going when I sew. I could also listen to my IPod but I have to be in the mood to listen to music or it just makes me angry. Don't ask me why, that is just the way I am. Here is a photo of my new awesome tv.

I love it!! I put it right where I can see it when sewing and it has me sitting at my sewing machine working right along. Check it out.

So what I have been working on? I know you are wondering. I've been making dresden plates and I must say, I have been having a lot of fun making them. Here are the ones I've been working on. These are for Susan's graduation quilt.

I've got like 15 of them made and about 4 of these half ones made.

Today I finished putting these half square triangles together using the Thangles paper. These are for another graduation quilt I am making. I still have to tear the paper off of them and will probably do that while watching tv.

Another project I will beginning in the next day or so is a baby quilt for a young friend of mine who is having a bay in April. She is having a girl and I walked the fabric store for a long while trying to figure out what I want to make. The mom said she loved polka dots and the color green. I know exactly what I am making and it should turn out so cute! I am very excited about it. Here is a peek at the fabrics I am using.

And to end this post I will tell you that for the last couple of days I have had every intention of getting my scrap booking desk cleared off so I can get some scrapping done. Each day I have gotten caught up in my sewing so have not gotten to it yet. Here is a photo of what it looks like right now. It's a disaster with papers, fabric and even my camera and camera bag piled on top of it. I will share a photo when I finally get to cleaning it off. I really want to get back to using my Cricut. I have seen some really cute cartridges lately that I would like to have and I'd also like to get the Gypsy and I've been trying to learn the Cricut Design Studio software that Dan got me for Christmas last year. It's a great software program. Anyway, here is the desk.

It was brought to my attention that I have yet to show what I did with all of those strips I showed you in a previous post. I will do that soon. I still need to snap a photo of it.

I will do it soon. I promise!

Bye!

Happy New Year!!

Hello every one! Yes, I have been super lazy about updating this blog. I do have finishes to share! I made 2 bow tuck totes. One for me and one for Susan for Christmas. I love this bag! It's great and they turned out cute. Here is mine....

Here is the one I made Susan and also some photos of the quilting I did before I assembled it....

I also made this super cute owl stuffed animal. This is not a very good photo and you can't see his cute feet in it but you get the idea.

So the holidays are over and the decorations are put away. New Years Eve was fun. We had the neighbors over and played games until 3 or 4am. New Years day I got sewing in. I cut and started sewing for a graduation quilt for Susan and I believe I will have enough left over for a baby quilt. This will be a dresden plate quilt. I'm having a lot of fun working on it so far and watching the first series of the Big Bang Theory that Dan got me for Christmas. He also got me an I Pod touch which is awesome!

Well, I'm off for now.

Bye!
